Service Agreement

1. Scope of the Service

aPaper provides account management, paper reading, material organization, notes and research assistance features, and supports connecting third-party services in the ways the product provides. Specific features, supported file types and availability are as actually described in the corresponding version and feature interface.

This agreement explains how the service is used and its boundaries, and applies together with the User Agreement; the processing of information is governed by the Privacy Policy.

2. Account and Identity Services

Account features include registration, sign-in, email verification, access recovery and linked sign-in methods. Password changes, bound-email changes, linking or removing a sign-in method, and account deletion require a new email verification for that operation to protect account ownership.

When an account is first created through a third party, a unique username must be set. The nickname provided by the third party is used for the profile display and does not replace the unique username or the independently verified email. A third-party identity linked to an existing account cannot be transferred to another account without verification.

3. Research Workspace and Material Management

The app provides tools for reading papers and organizing research materials. Before importing and processing content, please confirm that you have the right to use the materials concerned, and check the results of importing, recognition or organization. Automatically extracted text, metadata and citations may contain omissions and need to be verified against the original files.

Local storage, external imports and third-party services have different boundaries of storage and availability. Please keep independent copies of important papers, notes and research results; signing in to an account does not replace backing up your materials, nor does it mean that all local content has been synchronized to the cloud.

4. Model Configuration and AI Features

Within the scope the product supports, you can configure model services and choose models for research features. The service endpoint, credentials, model capabilities and available quota should match the actual configuration of the selected provider.

Once you enable the corresponding feature or initiate an operation, the app may send task requests and related context to the selected service; automatic processing features run according to your configuration and whether they are enabled. Please check the data sent, the provider's policies and any charges that may arise before enabling them.

Billing, rate limits, response speed, data retention and service continuity of third-party models are managed by the respective providers. The actual capabilities and availability of a model depend on the scope of support, account permissions and current status of the selected service.

5. Output and Research Judgment

Summaries, explanations, suggestions, code and citations generated by AI may be inaccurate, incomplete or lacking applicable context. Please verify key facts, calculations, citation sources and research conclusions, especially before publishing, sharing or making important decisions based on them.

AI assistance does not replace the author's academic responsibility, necessary professional judgment or the reading of original materials. The permitted scope of use of output also depends on the rights in the input materials and the terms of the corresponding third-party services.

6. Permissions, Credentials and Security Operations

Please configure credentials only for services you trust and have the right to use, and grant only the permissions necessary for the scope of the connection. Do not put passwords, verification codes or access keys in papers, conversations, support messages or other content that may be shared.

Configuration errors, expired credentials, network interruptions or changes in permissions may make some features unavailable. If you notice anything unusual, please check the relevant configuration and contact support; where necessary, you should also revoke or update the credentials on the corresponding third-party platform.

7. Availability and Service Changes

We continuously maintain aPaper, but the service may be affected by updates, networks, device compatibility or third-party problems. The capabilities and interface of preview features may be adjusted, and features that are not expressly provided do not constitute a commitment of availability.

For important changes, we will provide a corresponding explanation. Problems arising from the use of external services need to be handled in light of the actual status of that service and its separate terms; please keep information that helps troubleshooting, but do not submit unrelated research content or sensitive credentials.

8. Support and Feedback

For questions about accounts, features or the processing of materials, please contact support@apaper.ai. To help troubleshooting, you can provide the app version, the operation during which the problem occurred and the error message; requests concerning account ownership may require further verification.

aPaper is maintained by AtoMemory. When this agreement is updated, the date will be marked, and important changes will be explained in the manner set out in the User Agreement.
